About Me

I believe that the world is changing ever so quickly and we are consciously evolving at such a rapid rate that what resonated with us a year ago, has less of an effect on us today. We are waking up to our lives in ways that is sometimes very hard to understand.

I believe that we are so much more than the superficial life we project through social media. This is a hollow existence that works to numb our souls. This dumbing down of our lives is making me wake up. The more I feel us losing ourselves to the matrix of social media, the more I want to shout and scream the truth of what will really bring us joy.

I’m the co-founder and co-owner of Kelly’s Bake Shoppe, with my daughter – Erinn Weatherbie.

Kelly’s Bake Shoppe evolved from a deep passion for connecting people to healthier, conscious food – creating and developing new recipes with the idea and hope of changing people’s lives through delicious meals and solid nutrition.

Over the last couple of decades, we’ve really become more of a unhealthy society due to much of the foods we eat.

In 2010, when our original restaurant, Kindfood, opened it’s doors in downtown Burlington, I noticed the increased demand for healthy and nutritious baked goods. I started creating new recipes for months on end – from the wee hours of the morning in my tiny, kitchen in Kindfood. What ended up coming out of there was pure magic to many. The proverbial floodgates opened and what came through them were people begging for more. I was blown away by the demand and I realized we were onto to something very different. Kelly’s Bake Shoppe was born.

In December 2012, we opened Kelly’s Bake Shoppe in downtown Burlington. A 100% organic, gluten-free, dairy free, egg-free, peanut-free and vegan bakery. What was once taboo and off-limits to many people due to health concerns and allergy-related restrictive diets, they could now indulge in and enjoy. Kelly’s Bake Shoppe was an instant success.

I’m very passionate about my life and where it has taken me so far. I see what healthy food does for people and to go one step further, I see the gift of living consciously and when our souls are nourished, we get closer to joy.

You are what you eat and you are what you think. The power of positively living and positively nurturing our bodies and souls is where the magic lies.
