This is how we coined the term, “Are you living your life yet”. It came out of my very soul when discussing the transformation that happens to people (in their mind, body and soul), when you change how you eat. It took a long time to make this cookie and my motivation came from so many people walking into our bake shoppe and requesting a healthy “Energy” Cookie with no ’empty calories’. One with tons of nutrition, soy-free, gluten-free and vegan too, so that means no allergens like dairy products, no eggs, no dairy, no wheat, no nuts, no unhealthy saturated fats and I also added tons of ‘love’ (that always makes things taste better and makes them healthier!!). Everything that is in it is intentionally put in for optimal health reasons. I practice this all the time and I’m pretty diligent at it because I know how good I feel when I eat…

Thank you Julie for choosing to feature us on your blog today for “Thankful Thursday”. What a concept that you created by putting people in that state of mind of gratefulness every day of the week and experience more joy – by subscribing to your website. Erinn and I are so grateful for what we do and every day is an absolute blessing to be able to “BE” exactly where we are, together and building this delicious and healthy ‘cupcake empire’. It is so incredible to be able to share this passion with people like you, Julie. We wanted to return this loving gesture you did for for us and we have featured YOUR hard work today. Your weekly diligence and creativity of creating a more loving planet through gratefulness (and also, putting together this very sweet video of Erinn and me). In this video (above), we were able to voice how…

What a SURPRISE it was!!! This was the invitation that everyone received!! Wow! Thank you to Ken (my creative genius) and everyone else who made this happen!! They say happiness is a state of mind…For me, this was the “Real Deal”. I was overwhelmed with a happiness I had never felt before. This ‘grateful’ post to my family is a little late as the party was September 18th but Ken and I decided to take off for a few days to Montreal right after the party. When we got home last Thursday, the businesses needed our attention and before you know it, 10 days have gone by. I’m so sorry!! This note is for my wonderful husband Ken and my beautiful daughter Erinn and her dashing boyfriend, Mike. I still can’t believe what they did for me and totally blew my mind AWAY. Somehow they got together about 80+ of…

Awesomeness at 50. Celebrating my half century today! (and being cool in my own skin). My goodness it’s here and I’m okay. I made it! I’m the same person that I was 20, 30, 40 years ago….but I have to say, only a better, more refined and updated model. 🙂 To think of all the ups and downs, and good and bad struggles in my life and to have mastered them all and be where I am today gives me these goose bumps and shivers through my core. I can’t imagine living my last 50 years any other way and I’m very grateful for all of my lessons and ‘teachers’ that have come graciously into my life. I feel GREAT! Better than ever! 50 is Fabulous! 50 is Liberating! 50 is knowing who I am and to not be afraid to be it. 50 is the ultimate in Feminine Energy…

Introducing our new “Skinny Cookie”! This is the cookie that will help you maintain all those healthy resolutions or ‘plans of action’ you made to yourself to keep for 2013. We’re here to help you keep those promises you made to yourself at Kelly’s Bake Shoppe. It’s hard starting the new year and at times, I know, overwhelming to make and implement change but I’m certain that at least one of these following resolutions were on your list of things to change this year….maybe living better overall, EATING better, doing one random act of kindness daily, getting healthier in some way, taking up yoga, learn how to meditate, working out more, lose weight (always on most people’s lists), cure a health ‘condition’, be more loving or maybe even being consciously grateful daily for what you have. To take it one step further, I even have people who have begged me to help them, in…

HELLO EVERYONE!! I just wanted to give you all a heartfelt update about KellysXO and the transition of our vegan and gluten-free bakery over to Kelly’s Bake Shoppe. This will be our last weekend ‘baking’ out of KellysXO. Yes, it’s sad for me and Erinn and our family. The good news is we outgrew the space as business has boomed but the bad news is we won’t be part of the morning baking and prepping together. I’m going to miss it terribly…. As much as I wanted to move out of KellysXO and not be so ‘claustrophobic’ every morning bumping into everyone, I’m going to miss my two and a half years of growing in creativity and my spiritual journey in a bakery. Tears, stress, laughter, joy, the odd yelling match, new crazy recipes created and born, awards won (!!), tons of love given and received, the chance to do this with…

The joys of my job! Heck, someone has to do it!!! On Sunday, we drove to Washington DC and now I’m back….exhausted. 22 hours of driving!! (well, me being the passenger and brilliant co-pilot). We got home at 1am last night and oh my goodness, it was worth it! The cupcakes, the people, the scenery…Washington DC is stunningly beautiful, tons of fresh air and friendly people!! What I found really remarkable were the amount of trees in this town. Our only problem on the way down was driving across the border with my “Weapon of Massive Health”….a Raw Collard Wrap!! Dangerous veggies! It freaked the border police so much in fact, we were sent to the Homeland Security Building to get our car searched. As crazy as it sounds, it is the truth and to be honest, the border guard wasn’t too nice about it. I did get to keep…

It’s Christmas Again!! (and maybe it’s time to re-think our values) My mom used to say that as you get older-life goes faster and to enjoy it while I’m able. I try to do this every day. I’m now approaching the infamous “5-0” and I see, even more so now, how we are all caught up in the fast-paced consumerism lifestyle and I have to say this out loud, “Why? Why is it so important for all these gifts under the tree, why is it such a priority to have the most ‘this’ or the biggest ‘that’?” What if we thought about this time of year like we have never before? What if we found out we had the power to prolong someone’s life? What if we could give the gift of a ‘quality’ life? A gift that is priceless to some people. What if we could really do that?…
