Many of us go through our days awake, but following patterns we’ve developed over the years. We are going through the motions, doing things at home, online, at work without much forethought. Contrast this with the idea of an Intentional Life: everything you do is done with consciousness, fulfilling one of your core values (compassion, for example). Everything is done with a conscious intent. It’s true that many things we do have some kind of intent — I’m washing the dishes because I don’t want a messy house or bugs in my kitchen; I’m driving to work because I need to make a living; I’m driving my kids to school because they need to get an education and have a social network. I am so blessed with my life. Every day I get to wake up and share my passion of health with people who are able to come into Kelly’s Bake Shoppe and for those of you that connect with my personal website and blog. For those of you who have had the opportunity to come into our two businesses, thank you for gracing us with your patronage and your support. I can tell you first hand that the higher you go, the more challenges and obstacles can come your way. But I can also tell you that it gets better as you keep going. Perseverance is the key and trusting your heart to show you the…

It’s time to unplug and connect with yourself through the forgotten and almost lost art of being alone. These are the times that I am sometimes the happiest. Why Seek Solitude? There are many benefits of solitude.  When we are alone with our thoughts, it gives us time to listen to the world around us, as well as the world going on inside of us. Take time to reboot – your brain! Solitude gives our brains the rest and recovery it…
