Live to 100? Yup, 100 years old. I don’t know about you all, but I DO plan on living to 100. I want to grow old with my husband, Ken, and travel to all corners of the world – from Thailand to Bali to New Zealand and Ireland, Peru to Alaska. I want to be able to hang out with my daughter at these obscure destinations too ….until she is at least 70.
I want to see that planet Earth and it’s inhabitants recovers from it’s insanity of greed, and ego-driven lives and we will all find peace within. I want to live to see kindness and love and that we all get a chance to participate in the rebuilding of what is the most incredible opportunity that we have all been given and that is to LIVE!!!
I want to make a difference on this planet.
These thoughts bubble and boil inside me every day relentlessly and these ideas create my passion and tenacity within my very soul and have been spurned on by leaders such as John Robbins.
John Robbins: This wonderful man gave up the Baskin Robbins empire (his dad started Baskin Robbins) to find his way to helping animals, healing the planet and helping people and ultimately has made a massive impact. He serves as Director of many non-profit organizations concerned with the environment, the powerful dairy and meat industry, EarthSave, health, world hunger, genetic engineering (and the end of organic foods), and the welfare of ALL species.
The author of many best-selling books such as the “Food Revolution”, “Healthy at 100″ and Diet for a New America, he has been instrumental for over 40 years in bringing awareness, and kindness into our lives through example.
He is an expert on topics such as Mad Cow Disease, GMO foods, factory farming, pure water, dairy industry, nutritionally-devoid caused diseases…..Everything he speaks of is completely applicable to our SAD diet (Standard American Diet) and how our food is killing us and killing our planet.
Consider this: If we all lived ‘on purpose’ and to took the right steps forward to nourish ourselves in ways that we have never done before and have never thought about before. We can make the right choices. We can reverse the damage and chronic disease, we can save the forests, we can heal the planet in so many ways. We can heal ourselves and live a very full life but it begins with taking the steps to nourish ourselves (our minds, bodies and souls).
The only thing stopping you is YOU.
I LOVE this message – From – Diet for a New America:
“A the present time, when most of us sit down to eat, we aren’t very aware of how our food choices affect the world. We don’t realize that in every Big Mac there is a piece of the tropical rainforests, and with every billion burgers sold another hundred species become extinct. We don’t realize that in the sizzle of our steaks there is the suffering of animals, the mining of our topsoil, the slashing of our forests, the harming of our economy, and the eroding of our health. We don’t hear in the sizzle the cry of the hungry millions who might otherwise be fed. We don’t see the toxic poisons accumulating in the food chains, poisoning our children and our earth for generations to come. But once we become aware of the impact of our food choices, we can never really forget. Of course we can push it all to the back of our minds, and we may need to do this, at times, to endure the enormity of what is involved.
But the earth itself will remind us, as will our children, and the animals and the forests and the sky and the rivers, that we are part of this earth, and it is part of us. All things are deeply connected, and so the choices we make in our daily lives have enormous influence, not only on our own health and vitality, but also on the lives of other beings, and indeed on the destiny of life on earth.
Thankfully, we have cause to be grateful-what’s best for us personally is also best for other forms of life, and for the life support systems on which we all depend.” – John Robbins
I’m attaching this because this video series is about the book, “Diet for a New America” that changed so much of me. You will enjoy learning about John Robbins’ life achievements and all he has bravely done to stay true to his passion and desire to change the world. I will never look at the planet and all the species that inhabit it the same after I listened and read…. and comprehended what is (and has been) happening all around us.
