Every day is the chance to start a new life. How many of us promise to change and commit to being healthier, happier, kinder, stop our bad habits….and more. I think that resolutions are hard on us and create a negative dialogue within our minds. We beat ourselves up when we fail and chances are, we will.

New habits are hard to follow through on and keep every day. Are you staying true to your 2017 resolutions? As statistics would have it, by day 10 of the new year, 95% of resolutions are gone out the door. Maybe if we keep it simple and attainable, it would not be so daunting. My greatest joy towards achieving my goals is to encircle my life with mentors and people to help me rise up to where I want to be.

  1. Love yourself first and be kind. Then you can move on to others.
  2. Learn a new course online like Marisa Peer’s and she will coach you to transform your mind. It has re-shaped the way I think and feel about life.
  3. I keep sticky notes on my mirrors and I read and say, “I am enough” every time I see it. A gentle reminder that there is nothing else I need. It keeps me in a state of gratitude.
  4. Put my goals first. No excuses.
  5. Be mindful. Sit with yourself and shut off the electronics. Be still for 10 minutes to just simply ‘be’. I find the bath works like magic. Water is an energy shifter and lifts me to my happy place every time.
  6. A vision board (below). It breathes my life. It is an energy connector and keeps me focused and happy on my journey. I am a visual person and I need to be ignited with organization and visualization and creative work around me. (Goals: Expand Kelly’s Bake Shoppe, get my body toned, do more Youtube videos, enhance my yoga and meditation practice…and a few more)

Another important idea to consider is to LAUGH. Stop taking life to seriously….we need to find humour in all we do and all we are.

Thank you for this Kelly. You may not remember me but I was a regular at your bakery two years ago. You changed my life in more ways than you know. I eat better and live better too. You are such an inspiration to me. Miss you guys (but not the weather). 🙂

  3. Kelly, you are so awesome, you’re such an inspiration! I was blown away by how amazing in shape you are in that beach picture, and I know we are around the same age! You look like someone in their 20’s! My husband walked by me and saw your picture on my laptop and gawked “WHO is that?”, and almost had a heart attack! Thank you for all you do, inspiring so many women to grab their “girl power” and to pull up their “big girl pants”. I’ve changed my diet, my beliefs and changed my life thanks to you. Much love:)) From my husband too, I lost 20lbs!

Awww…..Thank you Sarah! 20’s? (I don’t think so – lol) This is so very cool and appreciated. I trust that the more we live our life true to our core, the more we connect with joy and less suffering (this ages us).
Girl Power is true to me, it’s my daily mantra to living and inspiring the 40+ staff I have at both businesses. Even if you’re a boy, it is vital to your growth to acknowledge and support the feminine (the women) in your life and raise them up. I’ve been blessed to have been touched by many positive men in my life. I feel like I’m free and on fire now and there is so much more to come with the added wind under my wings.
20lbs is SIGNIFICANT!! AMAZING! and I bet your husband is thrilled. Keep up the fantastic work. LOVE Yourself First. XO

  4. Pretty hot in that bathing suit! How do you look so good all the time? is it the food you eat, the exercise regiment; (I hear you don’t really work out), or is it the man in your life? Please tell me 🙂 We all want to know your secret to staying and looking young.

      Hi Lucy,
I just saw this comment – I’m sorry for ignoring you 🙂 We spend a lot of time over on KellyandErinn.com now and we are transitioning over to that site more and more. Re: looking hot – lol – thank you for that. I am quite disciplined to eat right and that means no junk. I really never eat processed foods. No refined flours, no processed sugars or things laden in fructose. Fructose is the thing that hurts us. I do yoga and am increasing that in my life as well as mindfulness. That is seriously important practice to stick to. I believe stress kills us. I think that a healthy relationship with a significant other can manifest greatness in our life. We however need to surrender to learning for ourselves how to be better people. I have had years of external issues with my husband that just kept finding its way into our life together. After many years of doing the work, with professionals too, I have come to understand human nature even more and I’m excited to finally be able to share with my tribe what has really gone on in my life and how I have survived and thrived – to become healthier and more mentally fit than ever! XO
