Coconut Oil. Crazy Healthy – VERSATILE – Oil.

Nutritionists have historically lumped coconut oil into the same category as cream, butter and lard, namely “off limits” because it consists mainly of “saturated fat”, the kind of fat linked to heart disease.

Current science indicates that not every type of fat is evil. The crucial question is whether it consists of “Medium Chain” or “Long Chian” fatty acids.

Medium Chain fatty acids, such as Lauric Acid, which makes up about 50% of coconut oil can be metabolized faster the long chain variety. They’re also readily absorbed in the small intestine along with ohter nutrients, meaning that don’t enter the lymphatic system and are less likely to be deposited inthe stomach as fat. Medium Chain Fatty Acids do not have a negative effect on cholesterol and can laos help to protect against coronary heart disase. The health benefits of Lauric Acid are mind-blowing (anti-bacterial, anti-fingal, helps with UTI’s, improves digestion, relieves symptims from Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis…just to name a few)

Coconut Oil is the richest naturally occurring source of medium chian triglycerides, but these fatty acids represent only part of the oil’s total composition.

Coconut Oil is of special interst to people wanting to optimize thier health because it possesses helaing properties far beyond that of any other dietary oil and is extensively used in traditional medicine among Asian and Pacific populations. Pacific Islanders consider Coconut oil to be a the cure for all illness. The Coconut Palm is so highly valued by them as both a source of food and medicine that it is called the “Tree of Life”. There are only a very few good dietary sources of Medium Chain Fatty Acids and by far, the best sources are from Coconut and Palm Kernel Oils.
