Blueberries give you Vitamin C and E and those Antioxidants we need so badly to remove the Free Radicals that keep bumping around in our bodies creating havoc for our healthy little unsuspecting cells in particular, the anti-aging Free Radicals and helps to ward off wrinkles. It’s a brain protector because of some very special phytonutrients found in these berries that defend the watery and fatty parts of the brain against environmental toxins.
…..Funny enough, Blueberries also activate the fat-burning gene in abdominal fat cells. Crazy! – So indulge in these beautiful creations.
Did you know that Cacao (which is the RAW – unheated form of Cocoa) has 400X the antioxidants of cocoa? It’s very high in fibre, iron, copper, zinc, calcium, sulfur and magnesium. Magnesium gives us our calm….de-stresses us and builds strong bones.
MSM (methyl-sufonyl-methane) is a white crystal powder that is basically sulfur. Unknown to most of us, sulfur is one of the five basic chemical elements of life and is a vital component to optimal human health. It is found in EVERY cell and helps with the functionality and processes of the human body including antibodies, hormones and enzymes, synthesizing collagen, and immunoglobin.
Rice Bran Solubles (Tocotrienols) are AMAZING. They should be a part of everyone’s daily diet due to their outstanding superior performance in protecting our cells (especially nerve-related cells). They are from the Vitamin E family but are molecularly a little different shaped and can hence, work their way into our cells very easily (especially our brain and circulatory system). Nerve-related wear and tear can happen over time and can end up showing signs of poor stress tolerance (ME!!), memory loss (ME!!), poor mental skills (ME again!), to more advanced nerve related damage as people age. Pollution, excess stress, toxic food, toxic skin care, food colourings, MSG, Pesticides, all induce chronic damage to our nerve cells. We need about 200mg a day of this VITAL supplement to offer substantial protection from the way we live (it would also be awesome if we all decided to not eat processed toxic foods, MSG, food colourings, etc and tried to support healthy brains and nerve cell health at the very most basic level.
Chocolate Blueberry Smoothie Recipe:
- 3 cups Coconut Milk
- 2 Tbsp Chia Seeds
- ¼ cup Raw cashews (optional – I love the creamy flavour they bring)
- 1 Tbsp (heaping) of Cacao powder
- 1 Tbsp Cacao nibs
- ¾ cup frozen blueberries
- ½-frozen banana (learn how to freeze them HERE)
- ½ avocado (smoothie thickener and other healthy nutrients too)
- 1 tsp (level) MSM
- 1 Tbsp Rice Bran Solubles (Tocotrienols)
